Our purpose and scope
HeliSchoolsUS is an independent directory and educational resource focused on helicopter flight training in the United States. We include helicopter specialists and schools that offer both airplane and helicopter training, presenting only the helicopter component. We also retain helicopter-flagged source records when current information is incomplete, with a visible confirmation notice. The directory is an evolving collection, not a comprehensive census or an FAA endorsement.
School profiles and source evidence
We use school websites, appropriate FAA references, and identified supporting sources to describe locations, helicopter models, and published training. Profiles distinguish published helicopter details from information that needs a direct inquiry. We do not copy general airplane courses or aircraft into a helicopter profile. A source check records when the evidence was reviewed; it does not guarantee availability today.
Part 61 is a training and certification framework, not a school certificate. A school’s Part 141 status does not by itself establish that a particular helicopter course or campus is approved. Confirm your specific course with the school and current FAA references at faa.gov.
Coverage labels and location scope
- Helicopter training published: sources describe helicopter instruction for the profile. Confirm current programs, aircraft, and scheduling directly.
- Confirm location & availability: helicopter instruction is published at provider level, through a partner, or on a mobile basis; availability at the named location needs confirmation.
- Confirm helicopter availability: a helicopter-flagged source record is retained, but current helicopter instruction has not been independently established. Unknown programs and aircraft remain unspecified.
Mixed airplane/helicopter providers and mobile instruction can qualify for inclusion. A provider-wide fleet or course list does not establish local availability. Related-profile links explain a connection without treating two locations as the same campus.
Record reconciliation and directory totals
Totals count directory profiles. Confirmed duplicates or relocated records may be consolidated into an existing profile, while affirmative evidence that a record does not offer helicopter training can be reflected in a correction. An inaccessible website or an incomplete search alone does not establish closure or justify silently discarding a helicopter source record. These totals should not be read as a verified census of active training campuses.
Original and AI-assisted writing
We use AI assistance to organize information and draft original summaries. The source material, scope, and limitations matter more than confident phrasing. We do not present AI-generated text as firsthand experience, invent student testimonials, or assign unsupported star ratings.
Student review evidence
When review material is available, a profile identifies its source and scope. General business or university reviews may not describe the helicopter program. We avoid combining unrelated locations or aircraft categories into a claimed consensus. Readers should consult original comments, their dates, and the school’s response.
Commercial independence
Some course links may earn us a commission. Advertisements and commission notices appear near those links. Affiliate relationships do not create a paid position in the school directory or turn a source summary into an endorsement. Default school order rotates; visitors can also sort and filter.
Corrections
Schools and readers can submit corrections with supporting links. We welcome corrections about aircraft, active locations, training availability, and source scope. Contact info@helischoolsus.com.
